Always reliable to have exactly what we needed for picnic, road trip or just bring home.
GMonkey do:
Har gow, siu mai, fun gol, football, sticky rice... all the usual suspects. Easy to go nuts and buy all or like this time, just get 2pc of each favorite.
Located on busy street make it difficult to double park and street parking sucks, so good luck. Limited seating inside. It was our favorite when didn't have time to wait on other nearby dim sum restaurants. GMonkey happy to return and share with Mochi. -

I was on a mission to take my mom out for dim sum for breakfast before her train departed from King Street Station this morning, but my go-to spots didn't open until 9, so I stumbled across Dim Sum King in my searches. They are open at 6:30 every morning which is great.
Things I liked:
-Prices are per unit so you don't have to get 4 shu mai if you don't want to, unlike typical cart dim sum plates.
-REALLY GOOD HAR GOW SHRIMP DUMPLINGS. These are usally my least favorite dim sum dish but they were delicious here.
Things I didn't like:
-Beef/shrimp rolls did not come with the yummy sweet sauce that it normally comes with so it was really bland. Would not get here again.
-No sauces out on the table at 7:30 am.
-Some items were oddly overly sweet (particularly the footballs). Made me question the sugar/MSG content in the food.
-The service was extremely rude. Trust me, I am very much used to bad or brash service at Asian establishments and grew up with it, embrace it, think it's part of the experience, and am usually never bothered by it. I'm usually not shy with questions but wow, never have I ever felt like my business was so unwanted before. Maybe if I had a different person helping it out at the counter I would've felt differently but the woman helping me barely gave me a chance to speak before she would keep nearly yelling, "ANYTHING ELSE?" at me after every individual item I ordered. Like yes, I do want more but she wouldn't give me a second before repeating herself. I probably ordered 8 different items, and was asked "ANYTHING ELSE?" in the most annoyed tone at least 15 times in a two minute interaction. I felt rushed when there was no one behind me, and just didn't want to go through the hassle of ordering more food after our first order even though we wanted to. She would cut me off before I was done speaking to say "I don't understand what you want", and maybe she would've if she let me finish my order.
So, food was okay and reasonably priced although I think you will get better quality and service at the go-to dim sum places in the area. I will only be back when the other spots are closed, since this is open early. -

Came here for lunch with my family after arriving in Seattle. We had to come check out the Chinatown area to see how it compares to other cities. Not sure if it's because I was in the area on a Thursday, but it was very quiet. Some notable things about this Dim Sum shop in particular are: it's interesting because everything was purchased for EACH instead of batches (which is what I'm typically used to for Dim Sum places). The place was hustling and bustling with lots of people coming in and out of the shop. They did have a sign saying that they would charge if you wanted to take food away, which is kind of a good thing that they're being mindful of the waste that they might be productions with "To-go" options, but that could be because they're being cheap too, but it's not a bad thing in this case
~~ Sauces: Sriracha (which I LOVE, but I personally prefer chili paste with Dim sum), some chili paste, pepper, and watered down soy sauce
~~Tips: Bring your own sauces, since they're pretty skimpy with theirs.
~~Return: Probably not. I'd most likely see if there's another dim sum shop in the area. -

The lady who took our order was really nice. We ordered ahead of time and she set aside the dim sum that we wanted. She was pretty patient since we were pretty indecisive at first. The dim sum is okay. I wouldn't say it is as good as Jade or Harbor, down the street. The dim sum just wasn't as big as the dim sum found in the places mentioned above. It also tasted okay. Maybe we didn't have a fresh batch since we placed the order at the end of the day but the dim sum was just okay. I would prefer to order at the other restaurants than come here again. However, I think this place has an appealing aspect to it since you can order quick take out dim sum if you are short on time.

Dim Sum King is just, necessary. When you can't dine in nor have the time to get the full dim sum experience, Dim Sum King is here to provide you with fast, casual plates of all kinds of dim sum, including an easy-peasy takeout service.
The pieces are a la carte and is very affordable. I'm talking, 70 cents per dumpling. It's amazing and I really should eat here much more often. Plus, the dumplings are constantly being made, so you're bound to get them piping hot.
There is some seating inside; although, I have seen more people get takeout here than dine in. In my most recent visit we ordered some shumai and har gow, which were sooo yummy! I also tried some of their buns that I recommend for dessert, especially the custard bun. Menu features a wide range of items.
All hail Dim Sum King! Glad to have a dim sum option when you just want something fast and casual, at prices that won't break the piggy bank. Gotta love it.
